Creating Accessible Canvas Pages

Accessibility Checker

The Accessibility Checker in Canvas assists instructors and course designers to maintain accessibility requirements in Canvas content. The Accessibility Checker is located in the Rich Content Editor menu bar of tools including: pages; assignments; discussions; quizzes; and syllabus.

The Accessibility Checker verifies attributes within the editor and provides a user-friendly explanation about any errors and what is required to fix the error. The explanation also provides a link to additional resources to educate content creators about the accessibility guideline. For more information read the Canvas Guide: General Accessibility Design Guidelines and How do I use the Accessibility Checker in the Rich Content Editor as an instructor?

UDOIT

K-State Online is a collection of systems and tools that support online teaching and learning at Kansas State University. At the core of K-State Online is the Canvas Learning Management System.  The Universal Design Online content Inspection Tool (pronounced, "You Do It") allows faculty to identify accessibility issues in K-State Online courses. UDOIT will scan a course, generate a report, and provide resources on how to address common accessibility issues.
